M9 (NIC® 29) produces a tree that is approximately 30-35% of a standard seedling.  M9 (NIC® 29) has a more developed root system than EMLA 9 and therefore, trees grown M9 (NIC® 29) have more vitality than trees grown on EMLA 9.  This rootstock requires support and is recommended for high density orchards.
